Family Ensembles - The Joy of Making Music Together
At Sharon Music Academy, our annual Concert of Family Ensembles holds a special place in my heart—it’s so much more than just a day of performances. This event is a beautiful journey that families embark on together, where the rehearsals become as cherished as the concert itself. As parents and children, brothers and sisters, all come together in the living rooms and basements, turning sheet music into shared moments and forging deeper bonds through every note.
I’ve witnessed the magic that happens when families unite in their musical endeavors. It’s not just about perfecting the piece; it’s about perfecting the way of communicating and understanding each other. Those afternoons spent practicing aren’t just about getting the rhythm right—they’re filled with laughter, occasional frustration, and loads of encouragement. This process helps build a profound appreciation for each other’s efforts and a spirit of teamwork that transcends music.
And I love watching families come together, sharing the stage to make music. It’s a beautiful and heartwarming sight that always makes me happy!
