Tuition Fees

Sharon Music Academy's Academic year consists of Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The fall and spring semester each consists of 20 weeks of private instruction. For students enrolling after the start of the semester, the number of lessons will be prorated. For the summer semester, students can choose the number of lessons and the dates of the lessons. Group programs usually run in 8, 12, or 18 lesson sessions, which can cross semester boundaries.

2024-2025 Season

Annual Registration Fee

There is an annual registration fee of $50 per student or $65 per family (more than one person) per year. The annual registration fee is non-refundable. This fee is due at registration with a completed registration form for each new and returning student.

Private Lessons

Tuition for the Fall or Spring Semester (the 5 month semester is based on 20 lessons ) may be paid in full or in 4 monthly installments (Payment Plan). Academy has an open enrollment – you can start lessons at any time. If the lessons start after the beginning of the semester, the number of lessons and installments will be prorated accordingly. Tuition fees below are listed for the whole Spring or Fall semester.

Payment in Full

  • Payment by check,  bank transfers (Zelle or Venmo)- no fees
  • Credit Card Payment - 4% of the payment amount

Installment Plan Fees

  • Post-dated checks - no fees
  • Installment payments by check, bank transfers (Zelle or Venmo) or Credit Card - $10 per installment (Note: Credit Card Payments incur an additional service fee of 4% of the payment amount).

Piano, Violin, Cello, Viola, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Music Theory, Audio Engineering

  • 30 min lesson – $1140 ($285 per installment, $57 per extra lesson)
  • 45 min lesson – $1540 ($385 per installment, $77 per extra lesson)
  • 60 min lesson – $1960($490 per installment, $98 per extra lesson)

Guitar

  • 30 min lesson – $1040 ($260 per installment, $52 per extra lesson)
  • 45 min lesson – $1340 ($335 per installment, $67 per extra lesson)
  • 60 min lesson – $1780 ($445 per installment, $89 per extra lesson)

Voice

  • 45 min lesson – $1560 ($390 per installment, $78 per extra lesson)
  • 60 min lesson – $1960 ($490 per installment, $98 per extra lesson)

Piano Performance and Competition Program

This program is taught by Music Director and may require an extra number of lessons in the semester.
  • 30 min lesson – $1260 ($315 per installment, $63 per extra lesson)
  • 45 min lesson – $1680 ($420per installment, $84 per extra lesson)
  • 60 min lesson – $2200 ($550 per installment, $110 per extra lesson)
Tuition fee for the Summer semester depends on the number of reserved lessons in the July-August period ( see Summer Private Lessons Registration form) and must be paid in full before the first lesson of the Summer semester.

Group Programs

Unless noted, all group classes are 45 min long. Tuition for a group course or a program must be paid in full prior to the start of the course or the program.

 

Preschool Music Programs

  • Jolly Strings 10 lessons session - $310
  • Jolly Keys 10 lessons session - $310
  • Jolly Notes 10 lessons session - $290

Suzuki Violin program requires a student to have a violin. Parents can rent a violin from many local rental shops. SMA has a limited number of violins to rent as well.

Group Classes and Programs

  • Music Theory 10 lessons session - $300
  • Ensembles and Chamber Groups 15 rehearsals/school year - $350

Miscellaneous Fees

  • Late Payment Fee – $25 per each late payment
  • Sight Reading Accompaniment – $70 for 15 min of rehearsal time and performance
  • Concerto Accompaniment – $100/hour for rehearsals and $30 performance fee
  • Online Group Supervised Practice – $30/hour the group is limited to 5 students
