Tuition Fees

Sharon Music Academy's Academic year consists of Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The fall and spring semester each consists of 20 weeks of private instruction. For students enrolling after the start of the semester, the number of lessons will be prorated. For the summer semester, students can choose the number of lessons and the dates of the lessons. Group programs usually run in 10-lesson sessions, which can cross semester boundaries.

2026-2027 Season

Annual Registration Fee

There is an annual registration fee of $50 per student or $65 per family (more than one person) per year. The annual registration fee is non-refundable. This fee is due at registration with a completed registration form for each new and returning student.

Private Lessons

Tuition for the Fall or Spring Semester (the 5-month semester is based on 20 lessons ) may be paid in full or in 4 monthly installments (Payment Plan). The Academy has an open enrollment – you can start lessons at any time. If the lessons start after the beginning of the semester, the number of lessons and installments will be prorated accordingly. The tuition fees below are listed for the entire spring or fall semester.

Payment in Full

  • Payment by check,  bank transfers (Zelle or Venmo)- no fees
  • Credit Card Payment - 4% of the payment amount

Installment Plan Fees

  • Post-dated checks - no fees
  • Installment payments by check, bank transfers (Zelle or Venmo) or Credit Card - $10 per installment (Note: Credit Card Payments incur an additional service fee of 4% of the payment amount).

Piano, Violin, Cello, Viola, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Music Theory, Audio Engineering

  • 30-minute lesson – $1260 ($315 per installment, $63 per extra lesson)
  • 45-minute lesson – $1660 ($415 per installment, $83 per extra lesson)
  • 60-minute lesson – $2080 ($520 per installment, $104 per extra lesson)

Guitar

  • 30-minute lesson – $1140 ($285 per installment, $57 per extra lesson)
  • 45-minute lesson – $1460 ($375 per installment, $73 per extra lesson)
  • 60-minute lesson – $1900 ($475 per installment, $95 per extra lesson)

Voice

  • 45-minute lesson – $1700($425 per installment, $85 per extra lesson)
  • 60-minute lesson – $2080 ($520 per installment, $104 per extra lesson)

Piano Performance and Competition Program

This program is taught by the Music Director and may require an extra number of lessons in the semester.
  • 30-minute lesson – $1360 ($340 per installment, $68 per extra lesson)
  • 45-minute lesson – $1800 ($450 per installment, $90 per extra lesson)
  • 60-minute lesson – $2400 ($600 per installment, $120 per extra lesson)

While a calendar semester may span up to 23 weeks, depending on the year and the day of the week, Sharon Music Academy bills for a fixed block of only 20 lessons per semester. This structure accounts for holidays and occasional cancellations to ensure a consistent learning experience and predictable billing.

In some instances, a student may complete their 20 prepaid lessons a week or two before the official end of the semester. If this occurs, we offer the following options to finish out the term:
  • Take a brief hiatus: You may take a break for the remaining week(s) and resume lessons at the start of the new semester.
  • Pay-as-you-go: You may continue lessons through the end of the current term by paying for the additional lessons individually.
  • Early start on the next term: You may continue lessons now, and they will be deducted from your next 20-lesson block. Please note that choosing this option means you will likely complete your next set of prepaid lessons before the end of the following semester as well.
Tuition fee for the Summer semester depends on the number of reserved lessons in the July-August period ( see Summer Private Lessons Registration form) and must be paid in full before the first lesson of the Summer semester.

Group Programs

Unless noted, all group classes are 45 minutes long. Tuition for a group course or a program must be paid in full before the start of the course or the program.

Preschool Music Programs

  • Jolly Strings 10-lesson session - $330
  • Jolly Keys 10-lesson session - $330
  • Jolly Notes 10-lesson session - $310

The Jolly Strings program requires a student to have a violin at some point. Parents can rent a violin from many local rental shops. SMA also has a limited number of violins available for rent.

Group Classes and Special Programs

Miscellaneous Fees

  • Late Payment Fee – $25 per each late payment
  • Sight Reading Accompaniment – $80 for 15 minutes of rehearsal time and performance
  • Concerto Accompaniment – $110/hour for rehearsals and a $45 performance fee
  • Online Group Supervised Practice – $40/hour (group is limited to 5 students)
