Sharon Music Academy has an extensive violin program with a long track record of success. Our students successfully pass auditions and play in prestigious orchestras such as Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, New England Conservatory Orchestra, All State Orchestra, South Eastern Massachusetts Orchestra, and many local and school orchestras. We instill in our students the skill, love, and appreciation for the violin that lasts a lifetime.
Sharon Music Academy also offers lessons in Indian Violin - a distinctive style of violin playing in India.
Over more than 30 years of teaching violin, we have many students who have achieved the position of concertmasters for the District and SEMSBA orchestras. Our students have opportunities to perform on world-renowned stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York. Aspiring violinists from the Sharon Music Academy participate in many local, national, and international competitions. The Academy also provides its violin students an opportunity to play chamber music and perform with professional musicians. Many of our former students continue to play in college orchestras and amateur chamber groups. Our violin program provides a structured approach to music education with an emphasis on mastering the violin and combines the Suzuki and the traditional approach to violin study. Our teaching process builds the foundation that allows our students to play different styles - from classical to Irish fiddle.
Most importantly, our students acquire the skill, love, and appreciation for violin that they carry throughout their whole life.
We also offer preparation for ABRSM and RCM Exams. ABRSM and RCM are the world's leading providers of music assessments. Preparation for these exams is a great way to get a structured musical education and ABRSM diplomas and RCM certificates are internationally recognized levels of proficiency in music.
The students are known as "Pre-Twinklers", because they are learning musical concepts to be able to play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." The goal of this program is to show the students the fun and joy of playing violin and show them a path to a lifelong adventure of studying this wonderful instrument. The students will have an informal recital at the end of the session to give them a taste of music performance.
