Dr. Synthia Sture joined the piano faculty at Sharon Music Academy in 2007. She has been teaching solo piano for over twenty years. Her pedagogical philosophy is to seek out one's artistic potential and nurture it. Ms. Sture’s multifaceted performance career in solo and chamber music has taken her across the US and on many stages throughout the world, including Germany, Japan, France and South Korea. She is the 1st Prize winner of La Grange Symphony Orchestra Competition, La Grange, GA. In 2002 she and clarinetist Todd Brunel premiered a work by composer Vuk Kulenovich to critical acclaim. Richard Dyer in The Boston Globe praised the performance for having a “tremendous virtuosity and heart”. An accomplished collaborative pianist, she works as a rehearsal pianist at Longy School of Music, Tufts University and Leslie University. Synthia holds a DMA in Collaborative Piano from Boston University, an MM in Piano Performance from Longy school of Music and a BM in Piano Performance from the Latvian Music Academy.
