Jude Poorten is a Phoenix, Arizona, guitarist, composer, and music educator. He has a diverse musical background. He started playing blues and rock music and later discovered jazz, which he specializes in today. He quickly became gained a reputation as an outstanding guitarist in Phoenix’s growing jazz scene, where he frequently performed as an accompanist and bandleader at world-acclaimed jazz clubs such as The Nash. He attended both Arizona State University and Berklee College Music for his undergraduate degree in Performance. While at Berklee, he took part in the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where he is currently completing his Master's degree. This program is a small global community of musicians who focus on advancing music as a tool for the betterment of society. The members of this community are involved in outreach programs in Boston and remotely, where he taught at Fundación Música Como Agente de Cambio in Chile. His guitar studies were guided by renowned guitarists such as Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Ben Street, and Joe Lovano.
