Jiawen “Eric” Guan

Education: Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in piano performance from the New England Conservatory. Currently a Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate at Boston University.

Bio

Jiawen has vast interests in all kinds of music and genres. He plays
harpsichord in baroque ensembles, is an organist at a local church in Boston, and he enjoys chamber music. Jiawen is also a composer and song writer, writing short pieces and songs in unique styles across different genres. He has his own band consisted of piano, drum, and bass.

Jiawen has participated in many music festivals, concerts, and competitions. He was the winner of the 2014 Peabody Winter Honors Concert, the 2014 Peabody Concerto competition, and was the 2016 IIYM semi-finalist, the 2015 MTNA National alternate, winner of the 2016 ACSI music piano competition, winner of the 2018 New England Conservatory Honors recital and the 2019 Atlantic Music Festival Piano competition, as well as the Silver prize winner of the April 2021
Musicale Romantic Style Music Festival competition in the 18-26 age category.

Jiawen has been teaching aspiring young musicians both at the preparatory and college levels.
