Ingrid Yen received her Master of Arts in Music Performance at the University of Arts in Bern, Switzerland, studying violin with Bartek Niziol and singing with Efrat Alony. Growing up in Massachusetts, she began learning violin in Boston with teachers, including Prof. Peter Zazofsky of Boston University and Masuko Ushioda of the New England Conservatory. She later served as section leader of both the Boston Youth Symphony and the New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic. At age 15, she made her debut as a soloist with the BYS. In 2011, her piano trio won the bronze medal in the Junior division of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed performing in many prestigious venues worldwide, from Symphony Hall in Boston to the Musikverein in Vienna. She has been privileged to attend renowned masterclass programs across North America and Europe, including the Banff Arts Centre and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. While living in New York and New Jersey, she played in the Chelsea Symphony and Symphony in C and Massachusetts with the Lexington Symphony. She performs regularly around Massachusetts and extensively teaches in Sharon, Easton, Norfolk, and Wayland.
