Caroline Smoak is from South Carolina and has been playing the violin since she was five and the piano since she was six. Her music education includes studying with Carolyn Huebl at the Blair School of Music and master classes with such outstanding violinists and pedagogues like Itzhak Perlman, Li Lin, and Catherine Cho. She has soloed with several well-known orchestras, including the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in revered concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Symphony Hall, and the Kennedy Center. As a winner of the NEC Bales Violin Competition, she was awarded to perform on the Guarneri violin for a year. Caroline is also an avid Bluegrass violin player and often performs with various Bluegrass groups. Currently, Caroline is pursuing a violin performance degree at the New England Conservatory, studying with Ayano Ninomiya.
