John Rogler, a native of Massachusetts, is an award-winning cellist having received honors
from Concerto Competitions in Boston, Chicago, and Atlanta, as well as the prestigious Chamber Music competitions such as the Evanston Music Club Scholarship Competition and the MTNA National Championships in Las Vegas, where he won runner-up with the Columbus String Quartet. He was named the winner of the Ruth Kern Young Artist Concerto Competition and performed as soloist on the Schumann Cello Concerto with the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra.
In his youth, John performed with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra at such prestigious venues as Sanders Theatre at Harvard University, Kresge Auditorium at MIT, and Symphony Hall. He also has performed throughout the United States with the Thompson Street Opera Company in Chicago, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra in Georgia, and toured with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra in Tampa and Miami, Florida. John has recorded the premier of
many works by his father, composer Robert Rogler, including Violoncello Sonata in Eb
Major and Five Poems for Solo Violoncello for the album, Where the River Falls.
John has also received acknowledgment for his academic excellence, winning the prestigious Presser Scholarship, and he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbus State University. He has been teaching cello at the school and college levels since 2014.
