Students of Sharon Music Academy Conquer Washington, DC
At
the end of June two students of Sharon Music Academy traveled to Washington, DC
to represent local young musicians on the national stage. Nine years old
Angelique Scully has been selected to perform on June 28th at the State
Department in “Piano Prodigies” concert series organized by the Foreign Affairs
Recreation Association for guests and employees of the State Department.
Performers for this series are selected amongst winners and laureates of various
national and international competitions. Angelique’s performance will be
featured in the next issue of the State Department Journal.

Eight years old Catherine Song of Canton competed in the 21st International
Young Artists Piano Competition, which took place on June 29th in Washington,
DC. This prestigious competition attracts young musicians from the best national
music schools such as Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Curtis Institute of
Music and many other renowned music schools from all over the world. In a
remarkable achievement, competing against the best young musicians in the world,
Catherine Song won the 3rd place and a cash prize of $125. Her success continues
Sharon Music Academy’s tradition of raising award-winning young musicians.
