have spent a lot of time and effort to select the best music instructors for our
students. Sharon Music Academy employs more than 15 instructors and every instructor has music or music education degree from the best and most prestigious music colleges and universities as well as many years of teaching experience. Our faculty comprises of instructors, who are well known musicians and music educators.
We also often invite world renown musicians to conduct master classes.
But the most important quality of our instructors is their complete
dedication to their students. That is why so many students of the Sharon Music
Academy stay in touch with their instructors long after they graduate from our
Academy.
Tanya Schwartzman - piano, organ, theory, chamber music
Tanya Schwartzman is the founder and the Music Director of the Sharon Music Academy, which she founded in 1990. She has been teaching piano, music theory and ensemble for for more than 30 years. She has a BA in Music with High Honors from Kuibyshev College of Music, Russia; a MA in Musical Education from the prestigious Novosibisrk Conservatory and conducted postgraduate studies at the Moscow Pedagogical University, where she also taught various courses for the students majoring in music education. She is the author of several articles in the field of Music Theory and Pedagogy.
Tanya has been a Vice-President of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association and is a member teacher of the World Piano Competition, the New England Piano Music Association, the European Music Teachers Association and the Sharon Chamber Music Players Association. She is on a faculty of several
international summer music workshops. Among her students are many winners of numerous local, national and prestigious international piano competitions, including International Young Artists Competition in Washington, DC, Manchester Young Artist Competition and Massachusetts Music Teachers Association Competition. Tanya often performs at various local stages.
Mark Anderson - guitar

Elena Beriyeva - piano
Degrees from Tbilisi State Conservatory (Gergia) and University of Arizona, New England Conservatory. Currently works as an assistant to professor of New England Conservatory Alex Korsantia. Elena is a winner of multiple international piano competitions. She is also a winner of England Conservatory Piano Department Concerto Competition, Chamber Music Competition in New York, Grand Prix of Green Valley Piano Competition in Arizona. She is an actively performing artist and has performed in Italy, Russia, Georgia, Armenia and at Carnegie Hall.
Linda Barbieri - voice
Linda Barbieri is an accomplished singer and music educator. She studies with Richard Conrad in Boston, and coaches with Sondra Kelly.
Linda’s opera roles include Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Rose Maurrant in Street Scene and Madame Herz in The Impresario, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Adele in Die Fledermaus and many others. She has appeared with Whitewater Opera, Sorg Opera, Opera by the Bay, Longwood Opera and performed in many recitals and concerts with local groups in and around the Boston area.
Yelizaveta Beriyeva - piano, theory
Yelizaveta holds BA in Music from University of Arizona and is currently studying with professor Alexander Korsantia at New England Conservatory. She has given numerous performances in USA, Italy, Georgia and Russia, including performance at the Carnegie Hall, where she performed as a winner of international chamber music competition of New England. She has been teaching piano and theory since 1999 at various music schools in Europe and US.
Yelena Gridneva - Keys-for-Kids® program, music theater, piano
Yelena holds a B. A. in musicology, Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music, and M. A. in musicology from St. Petersburg Conservatory, Russia. She is a Certified Kodaly Teacher, a Certified Keys-for-Kids® Instructor and a graduate of Piano Pedagogy Institute at Longy School of Music. She has over 25 years of experience in teaching piano, music appreciation and early childhood music programs. She is a music director, organist, pianist and children choir director at the First Parish Church in Dedham, MA.
Elena Ioannisyan - piano, ear training
Elena holds MM in piano performance from prestigious St. Petersburg Conservatory, Russia. She actively performs performs in different concert series, festivals and piano competitions: “Concerts in Mariinsky (Kirov) Theater ” (Russia), “Concerts in St-Petersburg State Conservatory” (Russia), “Gaetano Zinetti International Music Competition and Festival” (Italy, guest artist). Elena is a winner of the International Music Competition “XXI st Century Arts” in Kiev, Ukraine (2005). She was selected to teach at the State Music School in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, where she taught piano for six consecutive years.
Arlington Tart - guitar
Arlington is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with major in guitar and jazz composition. He has been teaching guitar, bass and mandolin for over 12 years. He also has a background in Electronic Engineering. Arlington teaches composition and arranging, sound reinforcement and can repair any broken guitar. He leads our “General Music Awareness” program for young children. He is on the faculty of the Tobin School in Natick.
Alex Gordeev - saxophone, clarinet, flute
Alex has been studying music since age 11. He studied in Russia, Australia and the US. He graduated from the famous Russian Academy of Music named after Gnessins majoring in jazz performance. Alex is a laureate of the Selmer International Classical Saxophone Competition in Kiev, Ukraine (2000) and is a winner of the 4th All-Russian Competition of Young Jazz Performers. Alex received a scholarship to study at the world famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, which he graduated with a BM degree in Professional Music (emphasis in Performance, Composition and Production). Alex studied and shared the stage with such greats as Marcus Miller, Joe Lovano, Darren Barrett, George Garzone and others. He regularly performs around Boston clubs.
Samuil Kreynes - violin, chamber music
Samuil Kreynes holds a B. A. in music/violin from Musorgsky College of Music, and M. A. in music/violin from St .Petersburg Conservatory, Russia, which gave the world Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Shostokovich, Heifetz and many other famous musicians. For twenty years, he was the principal violin and concertmaster for the famous Kirov Opera and Ballet Company and performed all around the world on such prestigious stages as Covent Garden (London), the Metropolitan Opera (New York), La Scala (Milan), Music Ferein (Vienna) and others. He participated in many internationally renowned music festivals in Edinburgh, Salzburg, Athens and St. Petersburg.
He was fortunate to work with many outstanding artists: Placido Domingo, Mstislav Rastropovich, Gideon Kremer, Yury Temirkanov, Maris Yansons and many others. In addition to his artistic career Mr. Kreynes has been teaching music and violin for more than 25 years. He was a faculty member at the Tutti Music College for Gifted Children in St. Petersburg, Performing Arts School of Worcester and a visiting professor at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. He is often invited to judge local, national and international competitions.
His students are playing in school, district and prestigious Boston youth orchestras (GBSO, Longy School of Music) and many of them were selected to perform on the famous musical stages such as Tanglewood, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center.
Tanya Levina - piano, music theory, early childhood music programs
Tanya has more than 25 years of experience teaching music and piano performance. She is an assistant to professors of New England Conservatory and Longy School of Music, where she works with the students, who compete in international piano competitions. Tanya is a Certified "Music Together" instructor and holds BA in piano performance and early childhood education from highly acclaimed Gorky State Conservatory, Russia. She also graduated from the same conservatory with double MA degree in piano performance and music theory and composition.
Nicolai Lomov - piano master classes
Nicolai's talent was recognized at an early age and by age five he was selected to be a student at the Mussorgsky State School for Gifted Children. His formative training took place at the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, completing his PHD in 1971. While still a student he represented Russia in numerous international competitions, including the Beethoven, Montreal, and Queen Elizabeth in Brussels. Over the next twenty years he performed numerous recitals throughout the former Soviet Union and was a soloist with many major Russian orchestras, including the famous Moscow and Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestras. His solo performances are recorded on CD, are
often aired on the radio, and are reviewed in newspaper and magazine articles. Mr. Lomov has been teaching piano and chamber music for more than
35 years at the prestigious conservatoires in Russia and USA including the St.
Petersburg Conservatoire (Russia), New England Conservatory and Adamant School
of Music, Vermont. Mr. Lomov has judged multiple local, national and
international competitions.
Natasa Ristivojevic - piano, theory
Natasa holds MM in piano performance from Syracuse University and BM from Belgrade Academy of Music, Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She has studied with Fred Karpoff, Max Levinson, Margarita Fyodorova, Michael Lewin, Jonathan Bass and Peter Orth. She is a recipient of Irene L. Crooker Music Award, Hira Poncha Graduate Award and Bessie Devault Graduate Piano Scholarship. Natasa worked on Adjunct Faculty of Syracuse University Setnor School of Music teaching piano performance to graduate and undergraduate students and as an Instrumental Accompanist at Boston Conservatory.
Oleg Soloviev - violin, viola, piano
At age 5 Oleg Soloviev was admitted to the famous Music Lyceum for Gifted Children in St. Petersburg, Russia,
where he studied violin, viola, piano, solfeggio, music literature, ensemble, quartet and orchestra.
He holds a MS in Music from the St. Petersburg Conservatory, well known because of its graduates:
Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Heifetz and many others. Oleg works with different New England orchestras as a violist and violinist: the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra,
Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Indian Hill Symphony Orchestra, Longy Chamber Orchestra,
New Hampshire Symphony Orchestra, Nashua Symphony Orchestra and Choral Society,
Cape Code Symphony Orchestra, Central Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra, Bangor Symphony Orchestra,
First and Second Church Chamber Orchestra and others. He also plays in ensembles, quartets, trios,
duets as well as performs solo at various local stages. His teaching method is based on strong classical
string tradition, which helps students achieve perfect technique, elegant taste and rich tone.
Todor Stoinov - piano
Todor Stoinov works as a concert pianist, accompanist, and vocal
coach, and has taught piano in Europe and the United States. Stoinov is the winner of numerous piano competitions resulting in piano concerto performances with symphony orchestras, and in recital, in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. A scholarship recipient, much of his training has taken place at the State Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria, USM Hattiesburg, and Longy School of Music. Todor accompanies Master Classes for world renown artists including Leontyne Price and Raina Kabaivanska, and accompanies singers in international vocal competitions.
Synthia Sture - piano
Synthia holds MM in piano performance from Longy School of Music, where she studied piano with Wayman Chin and jazz piano with Peter Cassino, and BM from the Latvian Music Academy, Riga, Latvia. She has extensively performed in US and on many stages throughout the world, including Germany, France and South Korea. She is the 1st Prize winner of La Grange Symphony Orchestra Competition, La Grange, Georgia. She is an accomplished accompanist and frequently works at Longy School of Music, Tufts University and Leslie University as well as with various chamber ensembles throughout New England. She has been teaching piano since 1990.
Stanislava Varshavsky - piano
Stanislava holds MA in Music from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and has studied with the leading world pianists including professors Victor Rosenbaum and Mark Lakirovich of Longy School of Music. She is an actively performing artist and as a member of piano duo Varshavsky-Shapiro has won many prestigious international competitions, including the Grand Prize at the 15th International Piano Competition in Rome, Italy and the 1st Prize at the 13th Schubert Competition in Jesenik, Czech Republic. She is also an accomplished accompanist and works as an accompanist for String instruments, Vocal and Chorale at the Longy School of Music.
