Everybody knows that talent is such a terrible thing to waste. But what about desire to learn? Especially desire to learn music – the gift that keeps on giving your whole life? Music brings joy to every person’s life, no matter his or her age, but children benefit the most from studying music. Many studies have demonstrated that learning music increases a child’s mental and learning abilities and strengthens emotional health. That is just one of the many reasons why so many parents bring their children to Sharon Music Academy – the place that not only personally teaches students how to play various instruments but also provides them with multiple opportunities to develop and express themselves through music. Many parents are investing in music education for their children - they are investing in their children’s future. But many families, though they fully appreciate the benefits of music education, are still unable to afford it.
The mission of Sharon Music Academy has always been to bring the joy of music to anyone who cherishes it. That is why Sharon Music Academy has partnered with the
MusicLink® Foundation to provide scholarships and instruments for promising musicians who are unable to afford music lessons. This partnership is based on the firm belief that anyone who has musical potential should be given the opportunity to nurture their musical promise to its full extent. MusicLink® programs are the collaborative effort of music educators, local schools and communities. Local schools and communities can also nominate students for MusicLink® programs. Through its LessonLink program, MusicLink® offers lesson scholarships at several levels, depending on financial need determined by eligibility for school lunch programs. MusicLink® assists in providing funding for lessons, materials, and instruments when necessary. The MusicLink® Foundation also offers the StudyLink program, which helps high school students who are pursuing advanced musical study to create a flexible independent study program that fits the specialized needs of musically talented students.
Sharon Music Academy encourages local schools and community leaders to contact it for additional information on MusicLink® programs and help to bring the joy of music to another child’s life. Sharon Music Academy is dedicated to reaching its mission of bringing music into the lives of anyone who can benefit from it. That is why Sharon Music Academy and its Music Director Tanya Schwartzman are always searching for new ways to bring music to more people, whether it be through charitable recitals, fund-raising activities, and volunteer work of students and teachers. If you have any ideas and want to help or know a child who can benefit from MusicLink® programs please
contact Sharon Music Academy.
